How To Remove Excess Glue From PVC Floor

After the PVC floor is installed, it is usually found that there are traces of glue marking it. Our tips show how to easily clean excess glue without damaging the PVC floor.

The PVC floor looks real, and it is difficult to distinguish it from the real thing. When you use an adhesive to stick the PVC floor to the floor, the extra part may leak to the surface. Sometimes you will leave traces of glue on the floor and ruin the effect. Excess glue is difficult to remove from the PVC floor, but there are several ways to do it without damaging the new PVC floor.

1. Remove excess glue on the joints of the PVC floor

If you must stop using PVC flooring within a few hours or days, remove excess adhesive from the subfloor. The best way is to take a board with straight edges and use it to flatten the excess glue on the floor. This is especially important in the edge area of already laid floors. Otherwise, the adhesive must be carefully scraped off with a spatula the next day.

2. Remove fresh glue on the surface of the PVC floor

It is best to remove the glue when it is fresh. If you install the board yourself, this is a simple task.

Just wipe it with a dry cloth or new sponge and make it slightly damp.

Clean the PVC surface where the glue is located.

If there is a lot of glue, you may need to push the glue onto the plastic card and lift it up, and then wipe the floor with a cloth.

3. Remove the dry glue on the surface of the PVC floor

If you do not have the opportunity to remove the glue before it dries, you will have to work harder to remove the traces of the glue. If there is dry glue, please remove it by hand, taking care not to damage the floor, and then wipe it with a damp cotton cloth to keep the floor and the adhesive as moist as possible.
